How We Build

Engineering principles we don't compromise on

This isn't a features page. It's how we actually build. Load shedding, patchy connectivity, mobile money, and WhatsApp-first customers aren't edge cases to us — they're first-class engineering constraints on every system we ship in Zimbabwe and South Africa.

What we treat as non-negotiable

Every system we build gets held to the same set of rules — not because they're trendy, but because they're what actually holds up in the markets we build for.

Offline-First, Not Offline-Sometimes

Load shedding and patchy connectivity aren't exceptions here — they're the normal operating condition. We build systems that keep working through an outage and sync automatically once the connection returns, rather than bolting offline support on as an afterthought.

Scope and Price Fixed Before Code

We write the scope and price down before a single line of code is written. No hourly billing, no scope creep disguised as "just one more thing." You know exactly what you're paying and what you're getting.

Milestone-Based Delivery

Payments split 40% to start, 30% at a mid-point demo, 30% on delivery. You see working software before each payment — we never get paid for work you haven't seen.

You Own the Source Code — Fully

On final payment, you get the complete codebase, database exports, hosting credentials, and documentation. No licensing fee, no dependency on us to keep it running. Any developer in the world can take it from there if you choose.

WhatsApp & Mobile Money as Standard

Your customers are already on WhatsApp and already paying with EcoCash or Paynow. We treat those integrations as standard parts of a build, not optional extras bolted on for an extra fee.

Direct Communication, No Ticket Queues

You talk to the people building your system — on WhatsApp, by call, or in person in Harare. No support ticket queue standing between you and an answer.

How a project actually runs

1

Discovery Call

30 minutes. We learn how your business runs today — every process, every workaround, every pain point. No jargon, no sales pitch.

2

Scoped Written Quote

We turn what we learned into a system blueprint and a fixed price in writing. You see exactly what we'll build and what it costs before committing a dollar.

3

Build in Sprints, With Demos

We build in 2-week sprints with working demos throughout. You give feedback, we refine, and the 30% mid-point payment lines up with a demo you've actually seen.

4

Deploy & Full Handover

We deploy your system, train your team, and hand over the complete source code, documentation, and credentials — yours to keep, no strings attached.

Our stack, and why

The same core technologies show up across every system we've shipped — GP Clinic, Honey Badger, Smart Vend, and Manake — because they hold up in the conditions our clients actually operate in.

React & Next.js

Fast, reliable interfaces that work well on the mid-range phones and laptops most of our clients' staff actually use — not the newest hardware on the market.

Node.js

A backend runtime that's mature, well-supported, and easy for any developer you bring on later to pick up — no exotic frameworks locking you into us.

PostgreSQL

A rock-solid relational database for the transactional data — patient records, job cards, invoices — that a business absolutely cannot afford to lose or corrupt.

PWA / Offline-First Architecture

Progressive Web App patterns that keep a system usable through load shedding and outages, syncing automatically the moment connectivity returns.

WhatsApp API

Because that's where our clients' customers already are. Automatic status updates land where people actually check their phones, not in an email they'll never open.

EcoCash & Paynow APIs

Mobile money is how business gets paid in Zimbabwe. We build these integrations in from day one instead of leaving cash reconciliation as a manual afterthought.

Questions about how we build

Do you use agile or waterfall?

A practical middle ground. Scope and price are fixed up front like a waterfall project, so you know exactly what you're paying for — but we build in 2-week sprints with live demos, so you can steer the details as you see the system take shape, the way agile teams do.

What happens if my system needs to scale?

We build on PostgreSQL and standard Node.js/React foundations specifically because they scale well beyond a single business — from one branch to multi-branch, from one user to a full staff roster. When you need to scale further, that work is scoped and quoted separately as a new milestone, not baked into surprise costs later.

Do you write documentation?

Yes. Every delivered system comes with documentation covering setup, core workflows, and how to maintain it — handed over alongside the full source code at final payment.

What if I want to bring my own developer in later?

That's exactly what full source code ownership is for. You receive the complete codebase, database exports, hosting credentials, and documentation on delivery. Any developer, anywhere, can pick it up — you're never locked into us to keep your own system running.

How do you handle security and backups?

Access control, authentication, and automated backups are treated as non-negotiable basics on every system we build — not an optional add-on — the same way offline capability is.
